Confusion Poem by Elle Jay E..

Confusion

You slashed up those seats like your slashed up dreams.
With your painted on smile.
And your happy beam.
You dont talk alot, but when you do.
You sound like heaven belongs to you.
Your brothers gotta baby.
So young, I know.
But you just keep quiet.
You dont let it show.
You never talk about your life.
But I can see through.
The sweats and tees without a coat.
The life you went through without a vote.
Older than me but in the same grade.
They think you have no future.
But you're not to blame.
The science teacher gave up on you.
And I know your parents did too.
But you cant let them get you down.
You live in a ghetto town.
But you gotta keep trying, I see your oppourtunity.
Come back and face reality.
I know you can face humanity.
You were doing so good.
What got into you?
Do you think you dont belong here too?
You're one of the best people I know.
But you dont try to make it show.
That you got nothing to eat.
But you chow and defeat.
With your muscles and your body.
And your tan with your strong feet.
Your big hands and chained pants.
From years of wear and tear.
You dont have much I know.
Its like your a cartoon.
You wear the same shirt every other day it seems too.
No one asks any questions.
We know what your going through.
Just promise me now.
Well always be tight.
Well always be good no matter where you try to fly.
I dont know where this path is leading.
But it hurts me to say.
You might be leaving us..someday.
