Conscience - Poem by Zoila T. Flores

Conscience, don't abandon me,
Through my journey, on this day,
Keep supporting, as you're always,
On the wisdom, of my say.

Conscience, don't rely on me,
Because my soul, is not prepared,
On directing, to my people,
On their lives, to be repaired.

Conscience, please forgive me,
To my morning, if you may,
If my eyes, refuse to open,
It's my soul, that's in dismay.

Conscience, please assist me,
In the passage, through this world,
With a cheerful, sense of spirit,
Making life, relish much more.

Very nicely and sincerely written. I'm glad you shared this with us. It may be that this stage in history requires more and more of us to turn back to listening to our conscience. (Report) Reply

Conscience is always our best friend and guide. If you listen to conscience, you will never go wrong. It remains our only companion when everyone forsakes. Congrats on being poet of the day! (Report) Reply

Hi Zoila, A very moving poem with an interaction between the need and the bother of conscience. Nonetheless your deep respect for your inner voice comes through with the ingenuity of the flow of your text. Thanks for sharing, Paul (Report) Reply

A good conscience is a continued celebration, its visits are like that of a mother-in-law whose visits never ends. It's a lovely poem, well articulated and nicely penned with insight. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON. (Report) Reply
