Consecrated (1jn 3: 9) Poem by tolu ogundare

Consecrated (1jn 3: 9)

Self! A selfish monster
Always in constant friendly pretence
Must be bound and sacrificed on the altar
That I may fulfill my primary essence

My longings for the Father's business
Until self dies will not be granted
Service without sanctity is useless
My unceded heart is not needed

Rise to start and prepare for glory
This is the time to wage the war
Fight to finish the fight to victory
For flesh to die it'll take this war

His Holy word my search light
Caves and burrows must be uncovered
Must be exposed and brought to the light
Hidden parts yet to be conquered

Whoever has been born of God does not sin
For His seed remains in him
And He cannot sin
Because He has been born of Him
