Consider Life Poem by Phil Daniels

Consider Life

Go placidly amid the noise and haste
Remember the peace in silence don't waste
If possible without surrender
On good terms with all be tender

Speak your truth quiet and clear
Listening to others being sincere
Even the dull and ignorant to
Have their story expectant of you

Avoid people who are aggressive and loud
They vex the spirit creating a cloud
Compare with others become bitter or vain
There'll be greater and lesser show not disdain

Achievements enjoy together with plans
Interesting careers throughout life spans
Possess humble beginnings as fortunes may change
Caution in business for the worlds trickeries range

Your self be, no affection feign
Let love be the total let love always reign
For deserts and failures will surely pass
Like the comings and goings of perennial grass

So take kindly the counsel of years
Surrendering fatigue and loneliness fears
Nurture your strength of spiritual shield
As gracefully the things of youth you yield

With wholesome discipline be gentle with self
You're a child of God not yet on the shelf
Know the Creator of the stars and the trees
Loves you, no doubts, for no doubt truly frees

So whether or not to you it is clear
The universe unfolds each day each year
Amid the false the drudgery, broken dreams, desires
With noisy confusion your labour aspires

When heavenly angels call out please hear
Only Christ leads the way into heaven will steer
Now be of good cheer, keep peace in your soul
For God still loves you and He's in control
