Contentment Of Faith Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Contentment Of Faith

I doubted what I couldn’t see
I laughed at those who tried
Most cynics of the world agree
Till Jesus comes inside

When by God’s grace we see The Light
When truth reveals its own
Darkness is swiftly put to fight
Softening hearts of stone

Contentment is faith verified
Who can such joy explain?
That Jesus lived that Jesus died
That Jesus rose again

To realize that God is real
To know the bible’s true
To be aware and even feel
What darkness cannot view?

To know such peace is mine to hold
Such grace from Heaven’s free
Greater than silver jewels and gold
These eyes by faith can see

No longer lost, no longer blind
Ceasing to wonder why
Gone are the shadows of the mind
The doubts of days gone by

I know! The Lamb I know The Son
The King of kings on high
I know through Him with battles won
We have no fear to die

He won the war He conquered death
Bringing us joy and peace
Bestowing through faith life’s endless breathe
Where tears and ailments cease
