Covid-19 Poem by Patricia Denise Newman

Covid-19

Rating: 5.0

See how quiet the road is outside
now that everybody's gone to hide
away from this virus stalking its prey
Brave medics fighting to keep it at bay

This pandemic prowling ever near,
our world is gripped by an awful fear
The numbers are rising every day
of people who've sadly passed away

Our politicians, scientists and engineers
seek answers as the death toll rears
This viperous pandemic has no bounds
as throughout the world it travels round

infecting the sick, the old, the weak
these are the ones it slithers to seek.
How can we fight it we only ask?
Communities rise up, this is our task.

Our spirits are willing, our faith is strong,
we'll beat this virus no matter how long.
Help is at hand as neighbours combine
to aid each other at this awful time.

A very thoughtful poem describing the current pandemic situation and its harmful effects. It also shows mutual cooperation among people. Thanks.
