Cracks In The Sidewalk Poem by Shelby Renee

Cracks In The Sidewalk

Rating: 2.9

Her wings were bent.. Her eyes were sore..
The glow she once had..Glows no more..
Her soul was crushed..Her heart was broke..
Her smile had deteriorated..Her voice was choked..
What happened to this poor girl to make her so down?
Why has her rememborable smile been replaced with a frown? ..
This world is so cruel that it can break down even the strongest heart..
Even a creature known for happiness and purity, who is sitting there falling apart.
She was known for being strong and no one had ever broke her down
But there she sits, alone and hurt without a single soul around
She sits on the stones by the river..quiet, hurt, broken, and alone
It's almost as if she herself has become one of the stones
Her muscles won't move..her wings won't spread
Her eyes won't blink..they are empty, cold, dark....dead
Here sits an angel whos heart is crushed, whos eyes are dead, whos voice is choked
Cracks in the sidewalk are proof that nothing in this world is too strong to be broke
