Crucify Me Poem by Ryan Lee Morris

Crucify Me

Rating: 5.0

I hurt the ones I love the most.
My truths, they were all lies.
It was too late when I realized.
That she had said goodbye.

Say Goodbye to all I was.
That person is no more.
He took his things and packed them up.
And threw him out the door

I was the unholy trinity.
It was me, myself & I.
Living my life just like a blind man.
While life around me died.

All the drugs and alcohol.
The lies, deceit and lust.
The ways of me were acid.
Dissolving all the trust.

When all was lost I took a chance.
Fell to my knees and prayed.
I was tired of the unholy trinity.
And always being afraid.

I heard a voice, so soft and calm.
He told me what to do.
“I can take your life all full of lies,
And make your dreams come true.”

“Confront your past.”, the voice it said.
“See everything you've done.”.
I did and vowed to change my ways.
My new life had begun.

His grace and mercy took my past.
He pulled it from my chest.
And then I was as light as air.
I finally felt at rest.

The first gift I received that day.
It was my Father's eyes.
I now saw things in a different light.
And I began to rise.

He took my soil, and broke it up.
His seeds began to root.
I knew the hill was steep and long.
But I looked forward to His fruit.

Down the path I journeyed on.
I failed but still I tried.
I knew I could do anything.
With Jesus by my side.

When things they seemed impossible.
I could no longer climb the hill.
Then I received His second gift.
The gift of Jesus' will.

So there it was, my roman cross.
My feet and hands I nailed.
I knew just what I had to do.
To succeed where I had failed.

I hung on the cross, it hurt so bad.
But knew this was the way.
To win back the ones that I hurt so bad.
It was the price I had to pay.

Her heart began to soften.
As I hung there bruised and broke.
I'd stay up there til it was done.
I'd do just as He spoke.

He showed me love is action.
And In his actions I believe.
So on my cross I will remain.
Until His third gift I receive.
