Daddy, My Daddy

Daddy, my daddy,
We spent our times together from a distance,
Even when you were near,
Even when I visited.
Daddy, my daddy,
I felt more like your punching bag,
Some thing and not a person,
You let out your frustrations on.
Daddy, my daddy,
You left mommy,
And I don't blame you,
But why call me when I no longer need you?
Daddy, my daddy,
You aren't perfect,
neither am I,
But please, don't act like you never tried...

Poem of the Day

poet Dante Gabriel Rossetti

Young Love lies sleeping
In May-time of the year,
Among the lilies,
Lapped in the tender light:
White lambs come grazing,
White doves come building there:
