Daisy Poem by Raymond Farrell

Daisy

I looked up
from my reading
and there was
a black and white
creature
with a twinkle
in her eyes
and a pale blue ball
in her mouth

She wants you
to throw the ball
a lady shouted
from the next bench over
and throw it I did
at least
a couple dozen times
until Daisy
the border collie, Labrador retriever
and Australian shepherd mix
plunked herself down
at my feet
in utter exhaustion

I love dogs and they are like little kids but they bark.++10
