Autumn approaches so rapidly,
And the butterflies are on the move.
Migrating south so fast and carefree,
Flying over trees, and streets and roofs.
Dancing in the air, in their special way,
A most lovely dance to see.
Moving south for endless days,
In beautiful colors, wild and free.
Dancing for days up, and then down,
To and fro doing the town.
Swinging their partners high in the sky,
Paying no heed as they flit by.
The annual dance of the butterflies,
Breathtaking in it's scope.
Bringing beauty to the eyes,
And to stricken hearts new hope.
