Dancing With Light Poem by Richard Fuerst

Dancing With Light

Dancing with Light

We try to control things as best we can
But sometimes life gets in the way
With energy enough to make doors fly
And volcanoes erupt

And in an instance
It's gone, it's over
Except for disbelief
And grief

But sometimes we're lucky
Or forgetful
Because sometimes
We remember how it was

And out of nowhere
Like sunlight on a cloudy day
Bits and pieces
Begin to smile on us

Somewhat out of focus at first
But then more clearly
Pale leaves
Begin to glitter
And dance with light
On the surface again
And again
