Dancing With Shadows Poem by Quênia Lalita

isolation was sparing them
from rejection and pain

so for a while, they were glad
to never fall in love again

till they found each other
they were dancing with shadows
and flirting with corpses

but when the songs stopped playing
they only had silence and blank pages around them

nothing was the same
they went back to isolation, thinking

'hmmm... it's warm in here'
and just like that
they were back where they truly belonged.
