Dare To Think Poem by Ananta Madhavan

Dare To Think

Enemies are everywhere,
Especially in ink.
Am I afraid to think?

Why should I dare
The sharp extremes
Of spooled up dreams?

Why should I care
To call the peace
Of contraries?

Better to spare
The tug of wit,
Accept the implicit?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Not yet 30, I was an official who accepted established thinking,
but also a hopeful beginner keen to present my own views, even if they were out of line. In this poem I expressed my dilemma in rhymed 3-line stanzas, unconsciously respecting conventional taste.
