Darkest Place Poem by Yvonne Allsop

Darkest Place

DARKEST PLACE

I’m in the darkest place right now.
A tunnel dark and bare.
I want to find the tunnels end.
I want to find you there.

The days have grown much longer.
Each hour seems like a week.
I’m lost inside this tunnel now.
I want to sit and weep.

I won’t weep and I won’t cry.
The pains too deep and I,
Will seek my way until the end,
I will not fold and die.

I’ll fix a smile and someday soon,
This smile will be for real;
And you won’t steal that smile away
That new found love will seal.
