Darkness Poem by Smeliton Paynes

Darkness

Darkness, darkness all around
Up above and on the ground
But a little light I see
And by a corner screaming for me
A little girl sitting on the floor
Sitting by a wooden door
Wrapped in a blamket so cold
She only wants someone to hold
In a tiny space is she
She only wants you and me
Holding tight to her teddy bear
And holding her curly brown hair
Come on someone open the door
To this little girl lying on the floor.
