Dash

I saw a dash(-)
In my important book,
I stared at it with rapt attention,
I felt
It was pleading me to write
A beautiful word in it,
As it was thirsty for this,
After a prolonged thought,
I wrote 'rose' on it,
Then the dash smiled at me
With great delight,
I understood rose was an appropriate word
For its refined beauty and sweet fragrance.
