Days Go Dark Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Days Go Dark

smoke filled eyes
wasted days time could not forgive
My body was a refrigerator
A room without windows
your smile is the nightmare of my dreams
It demolished my heart
and left it's debris
love is an elevator that went long way down
You only go up when you're on the ground
but it wasn't quite ready for lift off
I have lived a death warmer than the sun
No grave can store my wounds
