dear lord keep my soldier safe

lord give me the strength to survive today
to make it through and dry my eyes

lord please help me i feel so weak
my voice cracks and at times i cant speak

lord i need you now more than ever
please mend my heart from the pain and worry

lord i miss him so much i feel so alone
but i know this is just one of those stepping stones

lord im trying so hard to be strong
but without him the days are so long

lord i love him with all of my heart
and i understand why we have to be apart

lord please keep him safe while hes away
until he can come home from war to stay

lord give me the strength to survive tonight
to make it through to see the light
