As I ponder over my dear pond,
My heart dances in joy,
It is the pond of my childhood days,
When I could hardly live without this mate.
During that time often I loved to stare at its clean and tranquil water
And I got immense pleasure;
I always felt an eternal bond of affection with it,
My mind and heart remained a true and faithful companion of it.
I could not tolerate any slander and censure of the very name,
And I used to protest vehemently against the harsh game,
Even today I may live far from my dear friend,
Still my soul is entwined with this living legend.
