Dear Sister Poem by Nancy Chanthakoun

Dear Sister

I never told you how much you affected my life
I never told you how you made me feel lost without you
I never told you how much I missed you when you left
And I never told what you did to me after leaving...
We had fights, we had arguments, we had everything to make normal sisters
Rarely did we ever get along, and we never actually hugged
But you never saw the adoration in my eyes
I was young and you were old. I liked what you liked
Through our parent's eyes, we were perfect, looking past our flaws
But through your eyes, I was the little annoying brat that always followed you around
As my teen years came, you grew into adulthood and farther away
But as you had someone special, you spent more time with him than I
Instead of being angry or jealous, I got sad and depressed
I missed how I messed with you, I missed our little talks, and I actually missed our arguments
When you left, realised what you did, preparing me for the real world, preparing me for what's to come, you molded me into who I am today.
So thank you sister, for what you've done, thank you for everything,
