Dear Thabani Poem by Thabani Khumalo

Dear Thabani

Dear Thabani

All is now well with you.
There has been found to be no disease with you.
I have heard all the prayers you've said when the truth had come to you.
I will soon cause your spinal injury to release and leave you,
soon you will forget an illness of the soul ever was with you.
All your cheer shall return and it shall again be with you,
your thoughts shall again be free and no depression shall be with you.
While tonight is yet to get in the middle to you,
I choose to follow a star that runs swiftly between the thick blues
on high to lead me home to be with you.

All is now well with you,
though you have loitered the place
and challenged the elements with nothing to your name
but only the holy bible in your hand -
though you got estranged and fell completely out of touch -
though you prayed to God to seize your soul and make you see the folds unknown -
though you died by hanging upon a tree on a mountain's peak,
I will cause the beasts to fall and a herd of bulls too -
a great banquet shall ring the echos of the Cape and of Cairo.
When they see the mighty men instantly fall at your feet,
tears shall be wiped away from their eyes.
Though they have gone and come mad,
they shall return and they shall again be sane,
because all us we... we are a big family.
On the day of pentecoast, you shall begin to really sing.
You will worship my name alone in a dark place
and praise me by day in the shining light forevermore.
All is now well with you.

Truly You Indeed
