Darkness suddenly came,
Without any warning;
Like the fleeting wind,
To disturb the calmness.
Life snapped by death,
In a flashing triumph;
At the blink of the eye,
There is no stopping.
There is extreme pain,
As death makes a strike;
Happy hearts retreat,
In the gloom of loss.
Gone: it is forever,
Beauty won't be there,
To give an inspiration,
For the accepting soul.
Sad reality but inevitable fact! Well penned Elmer, Highest mark.

Your poem gave the true essence of the word death. On one side, it is ugly, painful, devastating, and sometimes, emotionally crippling. On the other side - that's for you to write, on your next poem maybe. Excellent work! A 10 from me.
