Death Of Man Poem by Richie John Pais

Death Of Man

Rating: 5.0

Message said he died today
Bitten by a poisonous snake
Before I could shed my tears
Someone said he died indeed
But by drowning in a lake

Day was flooded with news
Of different style and make
Various versions of death
Curious ‘facts' of accident
Not even a minute's break

Then a friend phoned to say
The news of dying was fake
When man was about to sink
Good Samaritan saved him
By jumping into the lake

Now real man who ‘died' came
He didn't even have head-ache
He had left bike near lake
And walked to the bakery
To buy a big birthday cake

I felt happy he was fine
Cursed loudly news fake
While we spoke a guy clicked
Tweet came with our photos
‘Two people died in quake'

None knows what to ignore
And which news to take
Why spreading fake news
Don't make lives miserable
A request for heaven's sake
