Decisions Poem by Lisa Knipe

Decisions

Rating: 5.0

Even since I can remember I've always made choices. People have told me to make the right ones, but I want to make my own. They tell 'You can't do that, I don't want you to make the wrong decision.' When it really means 'You can't do that, as I won't allow you to do it.' I hate being told what decisions I can and can't make. One minute, they said its the right one and tell you to go for it. Then the next, they don't want to go for it. We make decisions each day of the week. We pick our decisions and learn from our mistakes. Mistakes there's another word people use if we don't use their opinion. But it's our life why do people think they can tell what we can and can't do. I know they're only saying because they care, if they do then they why don't let us do it. But as Lindsay Lohan once said in one of her songs called 'I Decide',

I decide how I live
I decide who I love
Choice is mine
And no one gets to make my mind up
I decide
I decide where I go
Where I sleep
Who I know
I'm the one who's runnin' my life
I decide
I decide.....

People should believe we can make our own decisions and decide our mistakes. I've always followed what I believe is true and I'm going to keep believing it.
