Waves after waves come
and sweep over sand stretches
filling them with the roar and death-dealing
thunder of ageless aeons
to recede again with clattering feet
into the depths of ocean.
What for the moment is left behind
is a number of tiny many-legged
creatures clinging to sand grains
and crawling over and across in breathless haste
defying the arrogant seas'
show of power- - - - -
A fascinating sight
soaking one's spirit
with all the sunshine and warmth
it needs
life's vicissitudes to fill us all with.
