Democracy Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Democracy

You can check
It was there
By Mather

Roads crossed
Sign was police; said: “Stop”
On corner

Did not work
Democracy, suggestions
One offer

“Remove sign”
A reward for that brain
Commander

Things got worse
Accidents increased
By number

“Return the sign”
Suggestion of same man
The winner

Same prize
Was received, same person
The winner

Democracy is great
People ruling people not a king
What if no brain?

I’m puzzled...

Note:
Mather AFB is in Sacramento, California and the time was 1970.
