Demonic Angels Who Plague My Life Poem by Quantel Smith

Demonic Angels Who Plague My Life

Personal and emotional demons are hard to get rid of
Some are fortunate to send them away
Others, are not
It eats us alive daily, from the inside out
But we put on a poker face
To hid how we really feel
Alone, dead and hopeless
We try to make it through our lives as normal as we can
Without making a scene or feeling powerless
We don’t want attention
We want freedom, in which we are unable to receive
Our demons eat our happiness, hope, love, determination, striving to succeed
Most won’t understand, they think you’re stressed
But suffering from these demons leaves us emotionless
Unable to feel happiness, hope, love, and even self-confidence
They make us criticize ourselves to a point of no return
They have a point to make us feel life isn’t worth living,
That it’s easier to become numb and free flying
To become the person you wanted to be but was being held back from all opportunities
Emotionally drained we often take our lives
In hope for freedom for these demons to set us free and most of all to feel peace
But we have to do it ourselves
Find a way for peace
Find a way for happiness
Find a way to see the best in life
Find a way out from the hell they are causing us
Have to find a way no matter what it takes
We aren’t the only lives we are leaving behind
It’s our kids, parents, siblings, family, and even friends
That we never talked to because of thinking it’s an inconvenience
We have to speak up, nobody will do it for us
Admitting that we need help is the first thing to do
To make the demons leave our hearts
Our souls
Our feelings
And just let us be happy, free, loved
Talking about it can help
How will we know if we don’t try…..
