Denial Poem by Brigitt Rodriguez

Denial

Rating: 3.5

Depressed? Nay, that is not me
Only stressed, I’m sure you’ll see
Say that you once saw me in a corner
But I tell you, I am no loner
See scars on my wrists? I say you’re mad
For I would not do something so bad
So you heard me cry myself to sleep?
And I ask, “What reason, have I, to weep? ”
You sense the sadness in my eyes?
Well I object, to those lies!
“What of the poems you so often write? ”
My dear friends please see the light!
“You’re not happy, we know! We know! ”
That is it, I am going home!

Oh god they know! Oh god they know!
I must quickly put to rest, my troubled soul
I always thought they would not notice
But now they all know what the truth is
It is time, I must end it
Hope no one is truly offended
