Devotion Poem by Harlequin Rose

Devotion

Rating: 5.0

I have my freedom
but its such a lie
my pen drips
as I scribble my thoughts
on thin strips of emotion
as vulnerable as insanity
what am I going to do with all this anger?

I can see my truest love
in the future I'll never have
her face bears lines
of deep and concentrated rage
in her first letter to me
her pen fell asleep on the page
that's when my dream began to lose form.

My affection is yours if you ask
this passion that unhinges my souls
such a thing is not meant to last
but do you know what i have handed you?
this wild beautiful thing
disguised as an emotion
slowly my pen drips
as I scribble my thoughts
on thin strips of...
devotion.
