Dirt Under My Feet Poem by Face Butter

Dirt Under My Feet

Rating: 3.5

It was exposed to an audience who envied me
To family, friends
I gabbed too much of this love
A marching band of joy and happiness
It kept me confessing to the universe
My love has a last name
Then he left without a trace
No warning
No goodbye kisses
And I cried
Perjury filled the skies
And you wonder where it is now hidden?
Those emotions were strong
Once up on time my love was blind
Jumped out of my chest like a landmine
Warmed my thighs with an electric blanket of sunny side up
Especially when I looked into his eyes
Always we toasted to the moon at midnight
Flaunting continuously to the stars
But here I am buried in a pile
Vile raiment in this homeless institution
Of heartbreak
Too late for restitution
No hints of resurrection
Hidden under my feet are his memories
A shower today I hope will wash his dirt away
