Distance Poem by Maida Iftikhar Chikan

Distance

When the soil above me pushes daisies,
every sound my soul makes,
shall remain unheard to thy self
but every sob of yours
shall pierce through the 'distance'
and make me crave
to live agian,
to endure again.

Now that we're parted for an eternity,
I pleade thy gracious self,
miss my presence,
but don't forget my silence
for my silence spoke aloud,
but all unheard
till someday darkness approached
and so stays my soul
silenced amongst all!
