Don'T Let Me Cry! Poem by Mariana Eftimie Kabbout

Don'T Let Me Cry!

Give me your eyes because I want to cry
And if you really love me, forgive my tears...
My gleaming look will be the sun of your sky
Even that I’ve lost my smile in all these years...

I want to cry beloved but I don’t know how...
Please, give me your eyes just for a while
Let’s gather all the tears in the ink-pot of time
And I’ll write in the book of life our story, file by file...

The sunrise will fall asleep in our tired bodies
In the cradle of the morning between drops of the rain
We’ll feel the breath of the wind on our faces
And our souls will be so free... without pain.

So many tears! All of them are green and blue
The flowers hide yours and mine in the sky
Take care of me, beloved and if you really love me
Don’t give me your eyes! Don’t let me cry!
