Doom's Night Poem by Gergana Teofilova

Doom's Night

As the Earth was standing still,
Something broke the peace one night,
Thunderstorms and a vortex killed
Every single thing that wasn’t right

Suddenly, the sky just cracked,
So many stars expired cold,
The pure full moon softly cried,
The freezing wind was as cruel as gold

The ancient prophecy shall be fulfilled,
An old-time legend shall come to life,
They had a solemn mission to rebuild,
To destroy the rumors, which had been rife

Their horses’ hooves were rattling bolts,
Where ghostly manes could cover seas,
And fiery nostrils were spreading jolts,
Which even wizards could not appease

All four of them were holding swords,
Made of solitude and dazzling fright,
The world was not able to afford,
To close its eyes before their might

They were running like they had,
Dragon wings upon their backs,
Their deadly smiles were simply mad,
Reflecting bloodily a striking axe

The horses obviously could resist,
To endure centuries without a break,
Undoubtedly, all were created to exist,
To serve their masters of a lofty sake

The first one had a steed of virgin snow,
His skin was clean and glistened like the ice,
He spurred his beast around the globe,
In whirly steps and strength precise

Behind his head his brother rode,
A stallion as red as blood,
Whose crimson eyes, as hot as coal,
Were sinking ships, invoking flood

The air went into oblivion and mire,
Increasing gloom reigned, blessing sins,
The Famine was coming on his brute of ire,
Holding Scales of Justice in a hand that wins

The last rider was as crucial as Fate,
His stud was pale, as if made of steel,
The scariest one to run for the Gate,
His name was forbidden, it made him real

The four horsemen ferociously ran,
Thus revealing themselves to the total eclipse,
Until then no living child, or woman or man,
Had yet realized the coming of the Apocalypse
