Dormitory Poem by Tom Allport

Dormitory

Rating: 5.0

The new school room
Was a dormitory
At loggerheads colomendy
Everyone was friendly
Till it came to bed
When the teacher said
Lights out
The man cried
IT'S LIGHTS OUT
And we all cried
For we were children
Of an early age
Lost in the dark
Lost in the night
Tears joined in spite
-Of a cry
From a man who knows
Night and darkness
Shall only grow
In those minds of fearful woe.

" loggerheads colomendy" ? ? ? ? were you 'clots'? ? , sea turtles, shrikes, or PIGEONS? ? I hope 'crying out' was all the man did in the dark! ! i like the poem, but you made me do some research. ha ha. i'd actually heard of the turtles and shrikes, but i thought you must mean somethin' else. bri :) p.s. WOE: " noun literary noun: woe; plural noun: woes great sorrow or distress." i like " fearful woe" . to MyPoemList
