Dream Vs. Reality Poem by Amanda Austin

The feelings are so hard and I’m so cold inside
I can’t catch my breath and I can’t keep trying to hide
To the surface of my heart my dream pushes forward but
Deep down lies the pain of reality
Sometimes what we want just can’t be what we get so I’ve
Got to be ready if you don’t come back for me
Though the suffering feels unbearable I will make it through
All I can do is wish the best for you
If the worst comes just know everything happens for a reason
Because someday the hurt will seem to pass with the season
