Dreams Poem by Rhona McFerran

Dreams

At night I feared
the dreams growing up...
so many nightmares
night after night
casting long dark tentacles
of doubt over me
shadowing my future

By day I often lived
in impossible day dreams
veering happily off
to fairytale lands
then harshly smacked
by reality

But now I seek dreams
as my probable goals
as blueprints to build by
as plans to create

and I love dreams

Dreams
of great things
we will do
of endless possibilities

Sometimes I even
pray for better dreams to come
of finding and achieving
just what HE created me for
