Drifting Poem by Matt Burgett

Drifting

When life has been overwhelming
And all you want to do is cry
You start to think about your future
And if with no-one you will die

For at the moment nothing that
I have can save my life
Without your love I'm shutting down
Your simple touch could mend my mind

So that I can think
I need to figure some stuff out
Neglected by myself I'm week
Without my heart I'm just a cloud

Drifting through life without a purpose
I have nothing to hold me down
I want you I want it to be us
Without you I don't want to be around

Life is just not worth it
Unless you can be happy
With the one you want to be with
Towards death now I am drifting

Goodbye to those who might stop
One day and say remember
All the potential that was lost
If only he'd drifted somewhere better
