Duke Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Duke

Duke

One can fight any time
But cannot fight the time.

Looking at history
Show the time's playing
With people, world over
As well as with nature.

Travelled to La Paz
And climbed a tall height,
The sight was marvelous,
Had trace of rivers
And the sands of seabed.

Guess at depths of oceans
Can find and encounter
The crown-less mountains.

I followed the Royals,
William and his wife,
While touring Jamaica.

Expected a smile
And were wrong,
Were darn wrong!

No one bows to the crown,
Nor do they care for throne!

Caribbean feels tired,
Of the worthless Royals,
Looked at like cow-dung.

I believe Duke, Prince
Must speak with Queen:
"Inherited, we received! "

Time has come for masters
To look down, at footwear,
To set chins on their chests:
"We beg for forgiveness! "
