Dumbfounded By Messages Unheeded Poem by Sarah Mkhonza

Dumbfounded By Messages Unheeded

Rating: 5.0

In this state of disbelief,
where shock knocks relief,
andlives it dead cold,
I stand with a world that
says let us walk as if in
no naked trance. For the
naked truth has hit us in
the face. The world stripped
of grass even at the grassroots
is a world in jeopardy.

Lest we pride ourselves for
being birds of wisdom and
fly west away from the storm,
trailing is a quest of some form,
asking how we can take away and
not give back to the earth.

In a moment of truthful sober muses
the truth works it's way in.
Life lived through putting in place
gives to tomorrow what yesterday
took away.

The grooming we do today stands
with one eye closed saying with
a wink, I told you of tough
times that tell the world shame
on you. Gold and silver cannot buy
back the moments lost.

This pairing of birds of prey
where peckingon each beak
salutes each turn leaves us
on this thirsty ford, where
once we walked and crossed over.
Will wwe talk of love at the
next meandering turn when
prison doors open.
