East China Sea Impression Poem by Michael Pruchnicki

East China Sea Impression

Day dawns
sky cobalt blue
traces of cirrus trails
black sand beach
white tombs on green hills
dark shrubs hug uphill path
terraced paddies climb upwards

rusty LST rolls in gentle swells
wavelets lap at shingled sand
diesel engine belches gray clouds
nimbus of grease and oil glisten astern
aroma of percolating coffee in galley aft
mingles with brisk salt air
