Edwina's Oddish Pet Poem by Richard D Remler

Edwina's Oddish Pet

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Edwina's pet is really well-trained!
It stayed in the house the last time it rained.
It never chews shoes, never pees on the floor.
Never itches or twitches, or scratches the door.
It doesn't have fleas.Not even a one.
It never whinnies or whines, or moos at the sun.
It doesn't flotter, or totter, or live in a cage.
And it won't fetch the newspaper, not one single page.
It never climbs trees.Hasn't ventured a try.
It won't toot.It won't hoot.I can't even fly.
It will not brave the water.It can't swim at all.
It won't climb the new drapes, or chase a soft ball.
Its eyes are all flopsy.Its tail is a string.
Its ears, I admit, really don't hear a thing.
It makes not a sound, so you'll not hear it talk.
It just sits near the window, disguised as a rock.
Yet another adorable poem from the tireless pen of Richard Remler. How DOES he manage to consistently churn out these charming pen-gems? The soul of a child, cleverly disguised in the physique of a man! : -)
