Effect Poem by Ravinder Kumar Soni

Effect

It was only the beginning.
I fumbled with the keys
And could not open the door
That if left open,
Would have separated me
From my present and past
And take me to the Beyond,
Past the tomorrows
That seemed familiar and tried.
I was in a fix and
Didn't know what to do,
It seemed I was stuck deep
In the mire of Time
I still am.
The sequence of the keys,
They are lost, and
Time progresses ever so slowly,
That I doubt my memory,
Acumen and resources.
I have been unable to obliterate
The written or mute the spoken
Even though I still hold the keys
That I could not use.
I could not rewrite my future,
I could not change the course of Time,
Or history,
The changes I found were beyond me.
