Emotions Are Not An Ocean Poem by Kathlene Ann

Emotions Are Not An Ocean

Emotions are not an ocean,
They are more obscure.
What lies in my heart and sits on my mind
Is too vague,
Too intricate,
Too painful for me to say outright.
Sitting here, I'd like to write
A poem or a song
To express what I feel and what is wrong.

Oceans heave, wishing they could overflow and overwhelm the earth,
Which should be their master, but is instead their bit**.
Waves come and go,
Some hit high and some hit low,
But all will break eventually
On one shore or another.

The moon controls these elements.
She, alone, can make a puppet of the world's life-waters.
With invisible, invincible strings, she apathetically pushes
And pulls
At Neptune's liquidy home.

Two hydrogen, one oxygen, moon-gravity:
Science knows it all.
Lab coats predict the unstoppable movements of the tamed sea.
... For the most part.
