Endmost Anticipation Poem by Palitha Ranatunge

Endmost Anticipation

When I am at the harbor
Anticipating an approaching ship
To sail for seeing lands of no man's
The dull evening haunted with
Dying whispers of the cold wind
Saying farewell to my journey
As instincts of nature foretold
About my on way journey,

The land yonder beyond all the seas
Is the land of wisdom and hope
Where the divines stroll at their
Bliss of culmination as an eternal
Gift craved in their past and
I have been waiting to conclude
My episode of life dull to me,

A fractured pale moon looks
Suspicious at my venture
Invites the dark veil to cover
My vision, not knowing that
I lost it a long time back, but
I have unnecessary images
Of a life span, carved in my heart
Burdening it with loads to bear.
