Before my coffee's cold I've had to solve
A dozen problems, each of minor set,
But clearly posed to test a strong resolve
That nothing should my indolence upset.
Retirement is a period of rest
To follow many years of strenuous
Activity of mind and body, best
Enjoyed by rest continuous.
But marriage vows determine otherwise
And thus, if you are anything like me.
You must maintain a pace to equalise
Your fond pacemaker who, so tenderly,
Ensures your physical and mental prowess
Are not diminished by your shamelessness.
