Entropy Poem by Hannington Mumo

Entropy

In plethora of thoughts meaning disappeared.
And diverse concerns threw their varied aims
Into the joint conglomeration of broken things,
Dazing his mind with a dozen dazzling games.

One blurred cause called him west,
And urged him in some impish jest
To quench that innate travelling beast;
But he defied its push and turned east.

Another burning interest nudged northward.
Now this looked like the ultimate thing to do,
Although its paths were yet untrodden thick
And fellow wayfarers seemed uncultured too.

A thundering shout ordered that he higher rise.
This sounded like quick relief out of the guise
That Fate's looming mirage planted in his way;
But he felt rather too low to shoot up that day.

He finally heard an eerily soothing whisper
Say peace to him in lilting tones of a lisper.
