Eon Of Muses Poem by Gautam Sen

Eon Of Muses

Rating: 5.0

Layers of drab indifference
cast pretensions of nonchalance,
slavery of fluctuations
from sumptuous pleasure yet reigns.
Your sporadic visits incite
making my night-doze worth snoozing;
hallucinations if so sweet,
I then don't want to be awake.

My insouciance entrapped in
love-bound heart, my passions do tickle
to search for your hearty company
abruptly withdrawn and erased.
Endearment grafted from my beings-
lamenting over memories
of moments neither suits nor soothes
in spite of renunciation,
disheartening my forlorn heart.

Promise me to frequent my sleep,
in my precious dream not to rush
for dying out of existence.
I would start my night hopefully
for dreamy atmospheric look,
lulling familiarities
that I remember, can narrate,
correlate your silent visit
with my absolute cherishment-
as a blissful eon of muses.
