Equal In The End Poem by Mason Maestro

Equal In The End

The wire that holds the cork
That keeps the anger in
Gives way and its day again

It’s the moment when the taser tases
And when the pepper sprays like rain
You freeze the stretching moment with your fears
The mob presses to the fences
You can never see their faces
There is no recourse to the law with your tears

The innocense of the youth shatters
And the bloody street no longer matters
Leaving only principals to defend
Finally we will understand
The warnings of the few
Sticks and stones
Foe and friend
We were all equal in the end
