Escape The Grave Poem by Chris Wiggins

Escape The Grave

Rating: 4.0

You may conspire with politicians,
Coerce judges to be thy slave,
You may bribe the fickle jury,
But thy will not escape the grave

You may stand among the strongest men, The hardy and the brave,
You may rise to one day be king,
But thy will not escape the grave

You may go gentle into that good night,
Or be hidden in a cave,
You may repent for all your sins,
But thy will not escape the grave

Until then, rejoice in every new sunrise,
Listen to the birds sing in the park,
For when the gods do decide it right
You will lay upon the dark
